Championship Setup
The Williamson County Swim League has 20 teams, of which ours is of moderate size with approximately 100 swimmers. Given the large number of families attending to support their swimmers, the venue can become crowded quickly. To manage this, each team sets up a Team Tents where families can gather while waiting for their swimmers' events. The indoor seating capacity is limited to about 750 seats, and it gets stuffy and hot in there. The Organizers request that spectators remain outside at the Team Tents and only enter the indoor area to view their swimmer's race.
We aim to cultivate a cheerful and relaxing atmosphere at our Team Tent, encouraging our swimmers to feel excited and enjoy time with their friends. It's crucial for all swimmers to remain at the Team Tent when not competing to ensure they're ready for their next event and easily located by our coaches. We recommend bringing chairs, as the grass tends to be more dirt than grass, and towels can quickly become muddy. When bringing food, please clean up promptly, as ants can become a nuisance. In case of rain, the event will be paused to accommodate teams moving inside. However, it can get hot during this time, so please come prepared. You're welcome to bring a cooler with cold water, cooling rags, a fan/handheld mister, and any other items your swimmer may need. Please note that we will not have running water or power at the Team Tents.
Siblings are always welcome at all of our events. However, for younger siblings, strollers are not permitted on the pool deck for safety reasons. You can keep strollers at the Team Tent, but please refrain from bringing them inside. You will need to carry the little ones around the pool deck. We may have room at the Team Tent for a play-pins or two if needed. Please, inform a Board Member in advance.
After we are all set, Championships will run simpler to our average Meet. The events are in a different order but the structure is the same. The best part is at Championships, we only have about 10 to 12 jobs to fill and our amazing Coaching staff fills most of them. We may need to ask for a few extra helping hands. However, overall your parent job at Championships is to make sure your swimmer is ready to go and having fun.
Thank you for all you do for your wonderful swimmers!
